Slim Shoes

$75.00

Fashion to me has become very disposable; I wanted to get back to craft, to clothes that could last. I never look at other people's work. My mind has to be completely focused on my own illusions. I'm an accomplice to helping women get what they want. Fashion can be this mysterious thing that you can't explain. For me, the summer will be pure gray – mother-of-pearl gray, very pale gray. To me, this is the big statement for summer. Then we have light blue, light turquoise, lots of pink.

Vanity is the healthiest thing in life. I am not interested in the past, except as the road to the future. I didn't like the '80s at all; it was a vulgar moment of fashion. I try to contrast; life today is full of contrast… We have to change. I have my permanent muses and my muses of the moment.

Description

Brides today are increasingly sensitive to the tastes, feelings and finances of their attendants. I am convinced that you don’t need to spend a fortune to look like a million. Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. If you wear clothes that don’t suit you, you’re a fashion victim. You have to wear clothes that make you look better. You cannot be creative with people around you.

First I made a dress because I was pregnant and I wanted to be the most beautiful pregnant woman. Then I made a sweater because I wanted to have one that wasn’t like anyone else’s. I am especially grateful that I have been able to keep my own style over the decades, in spite of the many changes that have taken place in the world of fashion and in its business. Never in my wildest dreams did I entertain the idea that I would become a fashion designer. Fashion is always of the time in which you live. It is not something standing alone. But the grand problem, the most important problem, is to rejeuvenate women. To make women look young. Then their outlook changes. They feel more joyous. It should be natural, and that’s how I like women to look. I like them to feel comfortable and look organic.

I remember walking the dog one day, I saw a car full of teenage girls, and one of them rolled down the window and yelled, ‘Marc Jacobs!’ in a French accent. It’s hard to balance everything. It’s always challenging. Men have got more of a discerning eye. They appreciate cut and details, things that aren’t so obvious. They like things that have cachet and gentlemanliness. I have an obsession with details and pattern. Doing collections, doing fashion is like a non-stop dialogue.
